Completion of design and delivery on EFW Project
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Validation of design and specification of a range of equipment including 11KV distribution equipment & low voltage distribution systems throughout the plant from the DNO sub-station to individual consumers and will include the integration of power generation systems in the distribution system and negotiation of the grid connection.
- Validation of design and specification of MCC’s to service a range of package plant and equipment.
- Ensure that the package is compliant with regulatory requirements and appropriate certification is obtained.
- Ensure all TQs/ RFIs are answered.
- Work with the control and instrumentation engineer to ensure a fully integrated electrical system.
- Work with sub-contractors to deliver the specification into an operating power system.
- Ensure change is managed and proposed to other package holders and to the project and commercial manager to ensure the impact is fully understood before incorporation into the design.
- Be part of the team developing and delivering the plant’s safety case, this may include participating in Hazops.
- Contribute to the hazardous area assessment as required for ATEX/ DSEAR.
- Prepare documentation needed for completion of construction certification.
- To ensure the project is delivered in a safe, healthy and environmentally compliant way.
- Work with the engineering project manager and provide detailed technical support to ensure the safe, timely delivery of plants that perform to the contract specification within budget; that are built for operation and built in accordance with the specification.
Key Experience
- Chartered Engineer, Degree or minimum HNC in electrical engineering.
- Experience of leading large electrical engineering projects with specific focus on process plant power distribution systems (HV & LV), power generation integration and systems integration in accordance with UK and International standards.
- Experienced in the design and specification of power distribution and MCCs in applications such as; large process or manufacturing plant; power generation or similar industries.
- Candidates should have commercial experience and track record of achievement in one of the following industry sectors; power generation, waste treatment, chemical or gas process plants, energy recovery systems.
