Description

Dublin - QA Engineer - Daily Rate - 6 months+

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and development of testing frameworks and technologies
  • Develop test patterns to evaluate the solutions for performance, scalability, security and reliability
  • Contribute to the quality of the solutions by identifying issues in architecture, design and implementation
  • Suggest and influence process improvements and act as a change agent for the organization
  • As part of the reporting team, work closely with the scrum teams to ensure that the architecture conforms to standards for testability, reliability, scalability and performance.
  • Contribute to our Agile development process as a scrum team member from requirements analysis and design up through final feature acceptance and deployment
  • Continuously increase the coverage and complexity of functional test cases using JUnit, C++ (CPPUnit) and Scripting languages (Python)

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's (preferred) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years+ in software engineering/automation/QA role
  • Programming skills: C, C++, Java (Enterprise and Web Services), Scripting (Python), HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with large data technologies (Hadoop, Mahout etc) or reporting systems an advantage.
  • Operating systems: Excellent Linux/Unix skills, Windows
  • Databases: MySQL, Oracle
  • Other: TCP/IP, HTTP, Performance/Load testing Unix systems, Selenium, Eclipse, Soapui
  • Solid experience with Distributed systems
  • Solid experience with automated testing of a protocol-based solution
  • Experience working with agile methodologies would also be of benefit.
