Description
1 x Enterprise Backup Administrator is required for a long term contract role in Valencia, Spain. Your main task will be the administration and operation of Enterprise Backup services for a global IT company. It is an English-speaking role and the ideal candidate will have experience of EMC Avamar.Backup duties:
. Participate in the daily operations of ICC Enterprise Backup
. Participate in daily operation of backup environment (backups, restores, daily backup troubleshooting)
. Maintain and administer the backup infrastructure (EMC Avamar & EMC DataDomain)
. Automation/improving the backup operations
. Manage the backup clients, schedules and retentions
. Perform backup and restores
. Perform system administration of the VMware environment
. Provide technical support to the users of both services, troubleshoot technical problems and document solutions
. Develop/update scripts to improve/automate the administration of the Enterprise Backup
. Develop and update procedures and documentation
. The scope of work includes stand-by services on a rotation basis during weekends, holidays and outside of normal working hours
Backup Skills Required:
. Experience of EMC Avamar and other Enterprise Backup tools
. Good knowledge in system administration of Windows and Linux
. Good knowledge of Shell Scripting (PowerShell, Perl, bash)
. Good knowledge of VMware
. Knowledge and ideally training in storage, data protection and data loss prevention
. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
. Proficient in English
. Any Spanish, French or Italian is advantageous
. Certifications: EMC EMCIE, Symantec SCP, VMware VCP are desirable but not essential
