Linux System Administrator - 6 Month Contract - SwindonJob Title: Linux System Administrator
Day Rate: £350-£400 per day dependant on experience
Location: Swindon
Contract Length: 6 Months
Key Areas: Solaris, Red Hat, CentOS, Puppet, Chef, Ruby & Python, configuration management.
Computer Futures are looking for a Senior System Administrators to work for an award winning organisation in Swindon. This business is one of the fastest growing SME level organisations within the area, who have experienced 100% growth within the 24 months.
The successful candidates will be experienced within Linux based environments, featuring technologies such as; Solaris, Red Hat, CentOS, Puppet, Chef, Ruby & Python. Where you will be key & influential figures within the Operations Team - helping manage & support both, internal & external IT infrastructure and heading up a configuration management project.
You main responsibilities will include;
- Providing technical support on all IT related matters, with the aim to resolve these as soon as possible.
- Proactively seeking technical resolutions for internal staff and customers.
- Being able to deal with problems and complaints in a professional manner.
Skills & Requirements;
- Experience of Linux, Solaris, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Red Hat or CentOS.
- Experience of rolling out Virtualisation
- Experience of container management useful e.g. Docker
- Package and Configuration management tools, like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, RPM
- Knowledge of data storage, sharing and security
- OS maintenance - security patching
- Experience of PCI very useful, but not essential.
