Description

We are currently looking for A Big Data Architect for a 1 year project in Madrid, Spain.

Job Summary:

Responsible for Architecture, Design and Development of Bigdata Platform.

Responsible for developing the roadmap, building industry best practices, and reviewing quality of the solutions for the Big Data platform.

Responsible for overlooking functional and non-functional requirements in the solution and mentoring team with technological expertise and decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and build scalable infrastructure and platform to collect and process very large amounts of data (structured and unstructured), including streaming Real Time data.

Work closely with customer to provide optimal solutions to the problems, review the deliverables

Work closely across an array of teams and organizations in the company and industry (including partners, customers and researchers).

Requirements

10+ years of software development experience using multiple computer languages. Experience building large scale distributed data processing systems/applications or large-scale Internet systems (cloud computing).

Strong foundational knowledge and experience with distributed systems and computing systems in general.

Experience with a range of big data architectures, including Hadoop (preferred Hortonworks), Pig, Hive or other big data frameworks.

Well versed with handling sizing and tuning of Hadoop platform for the specific implementations. Exposed to implementation of multitenant Hadoop deployment.

Experienced in deployment and management of Hadoop based solutions

Hands on experience with working on BI tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc. Preferred Tableau.

Broad understanding and experience of Real Time analytics, NoSQL data stores, data modelling and data management, analytical tools, languages, or libraries (eg R, Mahout). Preferred is R.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to lead initiatives and people toward common goals.

Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Should be able to communicate (written and spoken) in both Spanish and English fluently
