Description

Waysact is software that supports the face to face fundraising of most of the world's largest non profit organisations. Charities like UNICEF, Red Cross, Greenpeace, WWF, Save the Children, UNHCR, Amnesty International and World Vision use Waysact to recruit new donors out on the streets, in shopping malls, festivals, events and door to door.

We're making an incredible difference. We're a group of twenty dedicated and talented people (and a few veritable geniuses) located globally; from the rain forests of Argentina to the heart of the Emerald Isle to the South of France and the northern Australian New South Wales hinterland; from London to Berlin to Cardiff to Toronto to Washington to San Francisco to Buenos Aires to Melbourne to Byron Bay, Bondi Beach and Manly. We operate in 28 countries and 11 different languages. We're only 3 years old.

We've grown and are growing at a blistering pace because we have always put our customers at the centre of everything we do. We are proudly bootstrapped and a creative commons for an industry that raises a billion dollars annually for the improvement of the world around us.

We are looking for a Ruby developer to join our team, and help us take our application and integration with payment gateways to the next level. We use Active Merchant to communicate with numerous payment gateways and want to expand the list of supported ones to cater to the needs of our new customers.

  • A developer with a passion for creating robust, maintainable software with Ruby
  • Experience building and maintaining Rails applications and gems
  • At least 3 years experience of writing Ruby code with tests
  • A desire to learn from and teach your skills to others in the team
  • An excellent eye for detail and consistency
  • The ability to work effectively with version control, and code reviews (We use Git and Github)
  • Ideally, previous experience using and contributing fixes or tests to ActiveMerchant

  • What you will do
  • Write and maintain Rails application code
  • Write and maintain Ruby code for our fork of ActiveMerchant and contribute back to the main project
  • Build pragmatic and well structured software
  • Learn and share your knowledge with other team members
  • Participate in code reviews through Github pull-requests
  • Support the whole team in delivering software that people love to use.

  • Why you should apply
In return, we will provide you with the opportunity to build something amazing. We have a fun, friendly and supportive team culture, and we’re offering the opportunity to grow and develop your skills & experience in a ground-breaking technology environment.
