Description
Summary- This position is for responsible for managing project delivery for mid to large and complex Technology projects with cross functional project teams - that may be comprised of several departments, have high visibility, aggressive schedules, and require negotiation skills to balance the needs of project stakeholders.
- The candidate Sr PM will be working on evolution of our IT Billing and Point of Sale platforms - specifically, the Technology Operational Readiness of these new systems.
- Effectively uses communications to ensure project health, transparency to risk and to maintain a strong project team sense of respect and trust.
- Communicates risks in clear business terms and technical terms and provides clear messaging and solution options at a senior leadership and executive level in both planned and ad hoc scenarios.
- Establishes the tools and processes to track and report on the program health and progress towards program goals.
Additional Skills Required
- 5+ years formal project management work experience.
- Must be proficient and have experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Project and Visio.
- Solid understanding of PMI principles and practices and how to put them into practice; demonstrated ability to apply PMI principals required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effectively communicates with all employee levels and levels of management. Project Management certification.
- Background doing Project Management around: Monitoring, Alarming, Change Management, Release Management, Trouble Tickets, NOC and Tier 2 Support Alignment, etc.
- The candidate Sr PM needs to have 5-7 years of solid Project Management background in the IT and/or Engineering industry - specific to Wireless.
- They need to have background working within the majority of these areas: IT monitoring solutions, data center resiliency/continuity, able to manage projects specific to IT development and application support orgs - and a general familiarity with IT and Wireless.
- Need candidates who are extremely proactive, self-starters, great communicators, excellent documentation
- Those that can dive in to areas of complete unknown
- Rally the stakeholders and working level resources to confirm the scope, schedule and implementation plan.
