Job Title: Structural Engineer
Reporting to: Director – Planning & Design, Engineering Services
Department: Ha – Planning & Design
Job Function: To be involved in all aspects of the structural / Constructions aspect of the program and all associated housing / multi- function buildings.
Duties:
- To design and prepare all required structural drawings and technical details for all projects.
- To verify that the approved drawings with reference to Civil / Construction Works are being properly implemented during the construction stage of any project.
- To carry out all required techiometrical surveys.
- Carry out inspection and supervisory duties relation to construction works by subcontractors ad required.
- Research the market, and be aware of the modern construction materials as to cost effectiveness, maintain all relevant documentation in the Technical Library of Engineering Services Health Affairs.
- Where necessary, the provision of technical support and consultation to both building Services, U&M Divisions in the maintenance and repair of roads footpaths etc, in the correct application of asphalt, installation of kerbs, concrete, pavement slabs, terrazzo marble tiles etc.
- Evaluates the structural civil aspects of submitted “design packages” which have been prepared by outside consultants.
- Sets performance standards and conducts performance appraisals for all personnel reporting to this position.
- Acts as the Person Technically Responsible “P.T.R” when designated, for an approved sub – contracted project.
- Performs other duties as directed or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering from a recognised college or University
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in a similar position required to be professionally qualified with recognised institutes.
- Expert in computers proficiency levels with experience in using STAAS III / SAP 200 and 2D-CAD.
- Knowledge of international standards / codes of practice if required
- Native English language / Arabic language Skills are a benefit.
- Must be an expert in computers.
- Computer skills: Expert in computer proficiency levels with experience in using STAAD III / SAP 200 and 2 D- CAD.
