Description
For one of our projects at the European Commission we are currently looking to recruit (as employee or on freelance basis) a:
Technical Writer / Online Editor
The project is a highly complex project which requires communication on various layers.
Main tasks:
- Editing existing documents (e.g. strategic framework, documents about the relation with other digital tools, project timeline, use cases, news items, quality assurance plan, etc.) with the goal to make them simpler, and easier accessible to our target audience. This can include the need to redraft the documents for online publication and to conceive info graphics supporting the documents.
- Redraft technical documentation on the dataset, the open metadata schemata or on software components in order to prepare well-structured documents that are easy to understand.
- Draft wikipadia articles based on existing documents.
- Help to refine the overall approach for online communication.
Main skills:
- Excellent English drafting skills, including:
- Expertise in technical writing and producing technical documentation such as manuals, online help, glossaries;
- Expertise in writing for online publication (websites, wiki, online communities, etc.);
- Expertise in editing and redrafting texts for specific target groups and communication channels;
- Very good understanding of IT, interoperability, business analysis, and Semantic Web/Linked Open Data.
