Description

Job Description:
  • A critical Member of the HR Services Department who is responsible escalated (Tier 3) issues from the HRIS and/or Benefits Department.
  • This individual administers and provides timely advice and clarity on all company benefit programs in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in company policies and applicable legislation, as well as the conditions outlined in the collective bargaining agreements.
  • To support HR, HRIS, Benefits and the Employee Service Center on benefit related matters and transactions requiring a higher level of expertise, intervention and interpretation.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring all benefit plans are administered correctly and efficiently, while adhering to regulatory, collective bargaining agreement and corporate deadlines
  • Analyze and prepare monthly insurance carrier remittances
  • Audit benefit deductions and verify missed or retro deductions owed
  • Be responsible for the HRIS system as it pertains to benefits
  • Assist with the ongoing management of vendors
  • Provide functional guidance and direction to team members and managers
  • Provide response to Employee Service Center Team for Tier 3 escalations (KBISS)
  • Foster a working relationship with HR representatives and Talent acquisition and answer questions Related to benefits, enrollment and other benefit packages
  • Educate team members about their benefits options through new hire orientations
  • Maintain and update Knowledge Base document use by the Employee Service Center Team
  • Research and resolve escalated team member issues and draft responses with guidance from Benefits Manager as needed
  • Work with Manager, insurers and internal departments to maximize the team member experience, as well as continually improving processes for Benefits & HRIS
  • Be involved in the preparation of written team member communications, plan team member communication meetings and presentations
  • Conduct on-boarding and open enrollment meetings as well as assist in preparation of related material and presentations
  • Maintain the HR & Benefit information on internal corporate website (interconnection)
SKILLS:

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in HR administration
  • Knowledge of Benefits is required, including 401(k) and Health & Welfare plans ie medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, etc. and experience with open enrollment
  • Familiar with ERISA, DOL, IRS and other regulations related to benefit plans
  • Strong experience with escalated customer service issues
  • Experience with new hire processing/onboarding preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to details
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Flexibility and team spirited able to multi task, work independently and in groups
  • Strong PC skills, particularly Excel (v-lookup), Word (mail merge) and Powerpoint is required
  • Experience working with union group is an asset
  • H&W customer tier escalations, Excel V-lookup, ERISA, DOL, HR admin experience, Commuter Skills
