Description

Summary:
  • As a project engineer, you will provide technical design and engineered solutions for controls, protection and balance of plant equipment in accordance with customer specifications and company policies and standards such as ISO.
  • You will also ensure project schedule and budget limitations are maintained; own quality, cost and delivery (QCD) commitments.
Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Perform specification review, develop list of fixed customer requirements and provide bill of materials.
  • Work closely with design group and others for the detailed design and/or to modify project plans as appropriate.
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of material and equipment and also address long lead items.
  • Develop a system diagram, I/O list, schematic diagrams and all other necessary documents to convey a conceptual design.
  • Formulate a drawing/document index.
  • Conduct field surveys and studies to determine specific design details that will be incorporated into the project.
  • Perform detailed calculations to compute equipment requirements.
  • Provide documentation for Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Installation Instruction or Plan, and Operation and Maintenance (O&M).
  • Execute factory and site testing, start-up and commissioning of hardware and software.
  • Coordinate communication and exchange of information between the project manager, engineering team, management, contractors and vendors.
  • Coordinate all internal and external communication relative to project.
  • Assist in the development of project schedule and estimates resource and material requirements; maintain respective planning and scheduling updates throughout the life of the project.
  • Work closely with project administrators and project manager to prepare reports detailing project costs, progress, risks and opportunities for review by senior management.
  • Comply with client contract requirements, quality program requirements and adhere to company standards and safety programs.
SKILLS:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related Engineering discipline (ie BSEE)
  • Minimum of 5 years of related project engineering experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of programming of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of IEEE, IEC standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
