Description

We’re an intentionally small, fully-remote team focussed on building a nationwide network of crowdsourced commercial real estate databases. Our wild start-up days are behind us – we're all grown up and profitable now with a 14-year track record and tens of thousands of clients that love us. Growth has been accelerating lately, and we could use some help wrangling our systems.

We're not dogmatic about our tools/technologies – we use whatever best suits the task at hand. Our current stack: SaltStack for automation, Wildfly/JBoss (serving up Java and ReactJS), MongoDB, MySQL, Apache Storm, the ELK stack, OpenGeo for geospatial (PostGIS, Geoserver, etc).

We're in the process of transitioning from a colocated environment to AWS (mostly EC2 with CentOS or Ubuntu, RDS, S3, etc). It's going well, but taking longer than we'd like.

About You
  • You have experience supporting and scaling complex web applications hosted via AWS.
  • You're reachable, communicative, and functional at 3am when the sky is falling.
  • You once improvised a hypervisor with a snorkel, a paperclip, and some chewing gum.
  • Like us, you value stability, work/life balance, group decisions, and working with people that are good-natured, interesting, hard-working, and self-motivated.
  • You hate both the corporate bureaucracy of a big company and the uncertainty of a start-up. You like having reasonable hours and knowing that your job will be around next week.

  • This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, remote, W2 position with benefits (health/dental/vision/401k).

Send a note, explaining why you're a fit for our team. Include a resume and anything else that will help us understand how 1337 you are.
