Search Engineer

MarketTrack is looking for an exceptional engineer with strong skills in the design, development, and data management for on-demand search platforms. Ideal candidates are good at understanding large relational data sets and how to optimize and de-normalize them for use within search. This includes the architecture of ETL processes along with building innovative solutions to solving big data challenges.

This person should be very self-motivated. MarketTrack isn't big on constant oversight and micro management. We're looking for engineers that can take a task, get clarity as needed, and run with it to produce well designed maintainable systems. You need to love data and care about quality and design.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Lead the effort to design and implement a best of breed client facing search stack.

Development of tools and processes for managing the data architecture and flow within search.

Resolve complex timeframes and client customizations to deliver a stable and manageable search platform.

Experience Required:

Deep knowledge of SQL (MSSQL and/or Oracle) and query optimizations.

Mastery of Java, Python, nodejs, or similar language for building scalable and maintainable data management tools.

Expertise and deep understanding of the requirements to develop a highly scalable end-to-end search platform leveraging Solr, ElasticSearch, Redis, SQL, etc.

Solr and Lucene experience

Unix / Linux experience

Strong written and communication skills.

Self-motivated and a quick learner who can deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic, and distributed team.

BS or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

Experience preferred, but not required:

Comfortable with agile development methodology and short release cycles

Stays up to date in the latest search and data management technologies and trends.
