Role Title: Policy Adviser

Location: London

Duration: 5 months

Rate: Upto £200 per day

Essential Experience:

  • Providing policy advice and support in relation to the on-going management of business energy efficiency schemes, including the CRC, CCAs, and ESOS, including oversight of scheme administration and resolution of ad hoc policy issues, and other policy support on business energy policy including energy using products, Electricity Demand Reduction and developing policy to support SMEs.
  • Providing flexible policy, project management and administrative support to priority areas of the wider Team, helping expand knowledge of policies while supporting the Department in meeting its key priorities. This may include providing logistical/secretariat support for meetings.
  • Strategic communication and outreach - including linking up with other policy teams within the Division and more widely within client to explain core policies, providing presentational materials on the scheme and responding to briefing requests from Ministers and other key stakeholders. Engaging with external stakeholders both in support of the line management chain and on your own.
  • Contributing to longer term strategic thinking on policy and potentially leading on delivery of a policy delivery workstream. This work will include understanding current policies and their interactions, how the policy landscape might be changed and improved, and what potential would need to be targeted, and how that might be achieved through new policies, for example by working on the business energy tax landscape review.
