Description

Position Purpose:
  • This position will reside within Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP), the Indirect Procurement group within the US business.
  • This position will be responsible for sourcing and category management activities, which entails developing sourcing strategies for assigned categories, leading sourcing teams, initiating and fostering relationships with new stakeholders, establishing and prioritizing activities for their team to achieve objectives and results.
  • Additionally, this position may be supporting implementation of new suppliers for their given categories.
  • This position will report to the GSP Category Lead for Operating Supplies Strategic Sourcing, and will work closely with other team members, key support departments, and critical stakeholders in the company owned restaurants, franchisee base, and US Home and Regional offices.
Strategic Sourcing Process Ownership:
  • Leads and champions GSP's 7-Step Strategic Sourcing process, including training new team members, updating process and tools regularly, and serving as advocate for the Strategic Sourcing Process
  • Conducts outreach and alignment of sourcing process with other organizations within
  • Develops new project pipelines, forecasting required resources and benefits
Spend Analysis Process Ownership:
  • Leads annual spend analysis refresh, including developing recommendations for category and savings opportunities
  • Validates baseline spend analysis for sourcing initiatives
  • Spearheads savings realization reporting, including methodology and reporting
  • Manages spend analysis tool and trains sourcing analysts on tool
  • Stays informed on latest industry trends in spend analysis and visibility
Strategic Sourcing Execution:
  • Partners with Category Managers to identify processes, metrics and tools to optimize procurement activities and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation for the US business
  • Effectively manages sourcing resources to develop and execute category sourcing projects to generate required savings and to lead team members in the following steps
  • Determining roles, strategy and tactics for the sourcing process
  • Negotiating, structuring, and analysing the deal
  • Scoring suppliers and supporting the supplier selection process
  • Providing expert judgment on the value of the deal
  • Supporting execution and transition activities (at times leading these efforts)
  • Developing project plans, deliverables, metrics and milestones for associated projects
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to deploy effective procurement strategies for select spend categories and to increase the ability to leverage volume and spend
  • Develops plans for deploying agreements to suppliers
  • Communicates team results to senior stakeholders
SKILLS:

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelors' Degree in Business, Supply Chain, STEM fields required. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related functions.
  • C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) designation is a plus.
  • Operating Supplies/Distribution experience is a preferred.
  • Proficient at communicating conclusions to leadership in a clear and concise manner
  • Possess a working knowledge of procurement best practices, including supplier negotiations, selection, evaluation, management, and development; must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience
  • Think critically and structure analyses to solve poorly defined problems
  • Negotiate to grow the pie and provide mutually beneficial contracts and business relationships
  • Build positive working relationships both internally and externally to provide with goods and services at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership and lowest risk
  • Communicate effectively via written and oral method
  • Able to problem solve and search for answers using internal and external network/sources
