Linux System Administrator

My client are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to assist them with the continued expansion of Redhat environment, the implementation of AWS EC2 internal system requirements and to work on a series of innovative projects to improve the service they offer to their customers.

As the company behind the world's number one consumer retail service, they have some great in house expertise when it comes to system administration. You will be working alongside some great engineers and working with systems used by tens of thousands of people every day around the world. Their Redhat estate comprises over 700 servers. If this is the sort of challenging environment which interests you, they will want to hear from you!

Your responsibilites will include:
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux servers (RedHat, CentOS)
  • Veritas Netbackup
  • Web server administration (Apache, Nginx)
  • Writing shell scripts (Bash, Perl, PHP, Python etc) to accomplish day to day system administration taskYou need to have the following skills/experience:


Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years experience in Redhat system administration
  • A clear understanding of the Internet working principles and concepts
  • Good communication skills (to communicate with the partners)
  • VMWare


It would be a bonus if you have or know about:
  • RHCE or RHCT
  • Amazon web services (Cloudfront, Elastic Compute Cloud, Route 53, Amazon Linux) administration
  • Virtual environment experience (KVM virtualization, XEN, OpenVZ, VMware)
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
