Description

SAS is seeking a full time SAS ADMINISTRATOR to work with our customer, a large sized international oil and gas services company. Work location is remote.

The consultant will be responsible for the following:
  • Perform SAS software administration including software configuration, updates, patches, and hotfixes and license renewals as needed.
  • Supporting over 100 users of various SAS technologies.
  • Manages metadata identities, users, groups, and roles.
  • Manage, monitor, and tune performance for multiple SAS environments.
  • Uses SAS Management Console to define connections to data sources, define libraries, create metadata objects, creating metadata folder structures.
  • Configures and tests communication between SAS and multiple relational database systems, including Hortonworks, SQL Server, and other ODBC data sources.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting SAS services.
  • Integrate SAS environment with various security layers to ensure proper authentication is in place for data access.
  • Manages permissions to metadata objects.
  • Advise customer’s IT administrators on identification and diagnosis of issues within the environment.
  • Acts as lead liaison with SAS Technical Support to resolve outstanding issues with the SAS environment.
  • Assist with administration tasks for Linux (RHEL 6.x) and Windows servers and Windows workstations.
  • Other SAS administrative tasks as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL

    • Bachelor degree in related field such as computer science, information science, or data science, or statistics.
    • Experience implementing and supporting SAS software.
    • 3 years of experience doing SAS administration. Experience with SAS 9.4 is a must.
    • Experience installing and configuring SAS software, implementing hotfixes, and software patches.
    • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting SAS services.
    • Experience with SAS Management Console – adding identities, defining libraries, setting permissions and access controls, creating metadata folder structures.
    • Experience with migration of metadata objects across SAS environments.
    • Implementation and administration experience with core SAS software, including:
      - SAS Visual Analytics (in a Distributed environment)
      - SAS LASR Server
      - SAS Visual Statistics
      - SAS In-Database Technologies for Hadoop
      - SAS Data Loader for Hadoop
      - SAS Office Analytics
      - SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office
      - SAS Enterprise Guide
      - SAS DQ Server Advanced
      - SAS DQ Desktop
      - SAS Data Management Studio

    • Experience administering SAS in both a Windows a Linux environment.
    • Strong problem solving abilities.
    • Competence in Microsoft Office.

    QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED

  • Implementation and administration experience with core SAS software, including:
    - SAS Visual Statistics
    - SAS/OR
    - SAS Demand Driven Planning and Optimization
    - SAS Asset Performance Analytics

  • Experience in the energy Industry.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
