Our Client, one of the world's foremost IT Consultants, is looking to recruit a Data Analyst to join their Global Infrastructure Services department in Manchester.

The successful candidate will have primary experience of Data Analysis and Data Warehousing, fitment and fulfilment for a small sized project with a medium complexity.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they meet the following criteria:

Knowledge:

  • Experience of Data Analysis and Data Warehousing within a Commercial banking environment
  • Good understanding of credit risk data and an understanding of the Financial Services Logical Data Model
  • Expert Oracle / SQL skills, experience of Trillium (desirable), PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, MS Project skills
  • Highly motivated, disciplined and able to resolve issues innovatively when options appear to be limited; Comfortable and effective in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and across different audiences
  • Good self-management skills, including ability to escalate issues in a timely manner and work to deadlines
  • Balance of strong critical thinking and analytical capability, together with a creative mind set
  • A minimum experience gained in a Financial Services change environment or a consultancy, primarily as a Data / Systems Analyst

    The project is charged with populating an industry-standard Risk Data Warehouse to support the full migration of Commercial Banking Risk credit risk reporting and analytics, off legacy and tactical platforms and onto the strategic architecture.

    The role is to join an existing team of talented and motivated Business & Data Analysts who are responsible for: 1) the production of Interface Specifications between identified sources from across the Commercial Banking systems landscape and the Risk Data Warehouse and 2) identifying appropriate "golden source" data items and defining the associated rules to conform these data items within the Warehouse.

    Core Responsibilities

  • Conducting technical systems investigations, data analysis and gap analysis
  • Workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensuring all business / data analysis deliverables are completed in accordance with established processes, practices and procedures, and meet pre-defined standards of quality
  • Identification, mitigation and escalation of risks and issues
  • Provide continuous improvement of BA techniques for driving delivery of appropriate solutions as quickly as possible and sharing of best practice within practice pool
  • To be able to work independently within a large project that has a high degree of complexity and a large number of internal (within risk) and external (across Group or third parties) stakeholders.
