Applications Solutions Architect Windows, Banking, Brussels
International bank is looking for an IT Architect for the "Windows Communication" Business domain.
The chosen candidate must have 5 years experience in the area of Design/Architecture in Windows Communication domains.
IT Architect is responsible for the coherence and the evolution of his/her Business domain (Windows Communication domain).
He/She is also accountable to protect & leverage the value of all software assets in this domain.
Responsibilities will include:
- To establish the target direction of the domain ( vision' initiatives) jointly with ISA (Information Systems Architecture)
- enable the implementation of the domain strategy (ie: create when needed domain-specific guidelines usable by the project designers, developers or testers; drive the execution of the cost and complexity reduction actions and report progress on their implementation)
- actively participate to all projects impacting your domain (Project definition, baselining and delivery phases)
- establish & maintain effective relationships with the key stakeholders for your domain (Product Management, Business operations, Corporate Technology, Information Systems Architecture,...)
- timely reporting of risks and issues related to your own application domain
- build & own the communication strategy for the domain both from a functional and technical point of view
- recertify on a regular basis the Application Owners needed to support you in your domain
- be an active participant to the Application Solution Architects community (ie develop & share best practices linked the skill, drive Continuous Improvement actions for the benefit of the community, act as a coach for Application Owners)
- coordinate & prioritise the activities of the Application Owners in line with your domain priorities & strategy
- pro actively develop and maintain your knowledge of the applications in your domain
- ensure that a correct level of up-to-date documentation is maintained for your domain
Technical skills required:
- VB.NET
- Web 2.0 - Javascript (JQuery), HTML, CSS, etc
- Standard development patterns (eg M.V.C.)
- SQL Server
- Windows development knowledge
Soft skills
- You are meticulous in your work
- You demonstrate good communication and negotiation skills
- You speak/write English fluently, French or Dutch would be an asset
- You have good analytical skills
- You show interest in new technology
- You can address problems globally but are also able to go into details when required
- You have the ability to drive and work with a virtual team
Following skills are a plus:
- Team Foundation Server
- Cross-platforms integration mechanisms (eg MQ Series, Connect Direct.)
