Our client, a global leading telecommunication company are recruiting for a RF/DPD Algorithm Expert to join their business in Sweden.

Position Title: RF/DPD Algorithm Expert

Position Type: Contract

Start Date: May 2016

Duration: 6 months initial

Location: Kista, Stockholm, Sweden

Responsibilities:

  • Take on the challenge of development of new generation of broadband high efficiency transmitters
  • Work in an innovative team to perform pre-development of future cellular base station transmitters focusing on research and development of the next generation high power transmitters, lower power MIMO transmitters and RF subsystems
  • Responsible for driving own algorithm projects, designing novel Digital Signal Processing compensation algorithms with extreme performance requirements which really adds intelligence to future clients products
  • Work as an expert resource in projects that target power amplifiers and transmitter system solutions, expected to provide technical leadership, mentoring and functional guidance on projects, as well as technical support to other projects on an as-needed basis
  • Assisting in setting up and to take part in cooperation projects with external partners such as Universities and other research institutes

Qualifications:

  • Strong mathematical background, ideally with practical experience of wavelets, neural networks, regression, statistics, Kalman filters, Bayesian models and other numerical optimization techniques as well as expert knowledge of application specific signal processing algorithms and their applications to the RF area eg pre-distortion of power amplifiers DPD, interference cancellation, multi-carrier clipping, image cancellation, optimal gain control, blocker estimation, IM estimation, etc.
  • Experience in digital hardware implementation and FPGA/DSP programming
  • Minimum of 6 years experience from industry and/or academia within the relevant field is required
  • Having a background as an industry pre-development engineer or researcher is desirable but not mandatory
  • Good understanding of transmitter-related hardware imperfections and a deep understanding of algorithms for digital correction thereof is necessary
  • M.Sc. in electrical engineering and a working background from Digital Signal Processing or a Ph.D. on digital pre-distortion or similar is required
  • Open-minded and eager to share: knowledge, ideas and experiences with colleagues and should have a proven capability to pursue creative solutions
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Good social and networking skills to support teamwork in project groups as well as ability to work independently is required
  • Good communication, documentation and presentation skills is a must
