Summary:- Position will work with Utility Applications on Servers and client desktops
- Most applications this position will support are Substation engineering Applications, such as Auto CAD and Formtec (UNIX Server)
- Most products are on a 4 year upgrade interval. Auto Cad 2017 product out this summer. This position will need to test and package product to over 200 users
- Position will also be responsible for assisting with escalated IT service desk tickets, which usually occur when a new user has been registered with a program
- This position will also support other Access/Excel applications
- This position will also work with software vendors to set up test environments and coordinate with the testers to ensure they have the correct test cases
- This position will also be responsible for annual maintenance renewals and ensuring the invoices get paid
- Perform, document and assist in planning work activities relating to projects, sub-projects, or processes.
- For Projects: analyze requirements, design, build, and test IT software solutions in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations/application maintenance: enhance, maintain or support existing IT products and processes to the defined service level agreement
- Maintain engagement with business and IT partners.
- Assist less experienced personnel.
- Proactively build business/IT knowledge to provide solutions.
- Utilize best practices to improve products and services. Apply and verify compliance to standards as defined within the Management Model.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree and typically 3 to 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Appropriate technical skills
- Knowledge of business practices and processes
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
- Prior experience with Sharepoint and HP Service manager is a plus
- Initiate, test and coordinate deployment of packages created for Portal Manager
- Run, evaluate, debug existing Unix Scripts to stop/start application processes held on UNIX server
- Windows registry knowledge
- DLL & OCX file installing and debugging
- Oracle database connectivity
- Visual Basic and general Windows troubleshooting
- Java
- SQL Server
- MS Office
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred
