Description:
Packaging Project Specialist

  • The Packaging Project Specialist's key role will be to support the packaging artwork team in the commercial packaging execution process & related project needs within Oral Healthcare.
  • This includes working, under direction, with internal business groups (LCM, IPD, DFU Dept, etc.) and the sales organizations (BMCs). This fulfills a key part (packaging execution) of the product introduction process as well as portfolio improvement opportunities (LCM projects).
  • This position coordinates packaging projects for OHC markets, by supporting short-term project teams accountable for execution of the artwork portion of the packaging development process, ensuring alignment with client's brand requirements and execution per packaging operations and logistics requirements. Responsibilities include supporting the regionalization of projects to ensure excellent launch execution globally.

Project Management:

  • Execute artwork projects under direction of packaging artwork team for new products and existing product changes to specific markets.
  • Manage review and final approval from all stakeholders needed on a specific project.
  • Track timeliness of projects and provide routine status reports to packaging artwork team.
  • Escalate process delays and other issues to project leads when necessary for resolution.
  • Attend training to build team member expertise across product categories.
  • Enter updates to maintain documentation of market legal requirements, standard copy blocks, and other shared team resources.
  • Manage electronic record-keeping and reporting as required for job activities.

Packaging execution:

  • Coordinate the work flow between translation vendors, artwork execution vendors, and local personnel (including SGS onsite manager).
  • Proof PDFs, route revisions, and manage sales regions to artwork deadlines for all packaging launches.
  • Revise and proof ancillary materials, which may include DFUs, quick start guides, inserts, and stickers.
  • Ensure claims' messaging is used appropriately & consistently on packaging and within legal market requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date on current business software.
  • Process and track purchase orders and payments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with product packaging or printed marketing materials
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with implementing brand guidelines in work for national brands
  • Demonstrated ability to address problems proactively
  • Highly detail oriented and able to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional communication skills for coordinating remote teams of many nationalities, as well as communication with global and local stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic record-keeping system
  • Experience working in ISO9000 or similar regulated business preferred
  • Previous related work experience in a global consumer packaged goods company preferred

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Notes
  • Adobe Acrobat for editing, annotating PDFs
  • Familiar with the use of Product Data Management (PDM) systems preferred
