Technical Solutions Architect - Equities - Investment banking

Hatstand, a global financial consultancy, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Solutions Architect. You would be joining a global functional team that is responsible for production services support and release management across Equity Lines of Business for Cash Equities, Derivative linked products, FF&O and Prime Brokerage/Securities Lending.

The Technical Solution Architect is responsible for ensuring that business, application support, and technical requirements are identified and evolved with other teams over the life cycle of a project from concept to implementation and hand-over to production services. This will necessitate working closely with defined client groups to understand their strategy and goals and helping to translate those goals into high-level technology requirements.

Specific responsibilities will include:

*Evaluating business, development and support requirements to minimize risk, cost and time to market
*Working directly with support teams, development groups and business sponsors to learn and document the technical aspects of their business challenges and opportunities and to understand client business and technology requirements
*Providing architectural advice and guidance to development and application support.
*Providing technical overview of component architecture, functionality, requirements, and integration points with existing and planned applications
*Supporting continuous infrastructure improvement, integration and cost reduction efforts
*Assisting application teams with complex service restoration, root cause analysis and preventive remedial action
*Creating tools for support, reporting and engineering functions
*Low latency research and infrastructure engineering lead and champion across sensitive environments
*Working on MiFID II projects such as clock synchronisation and a low latency wire-capture timestamp solution

It is vital that you have a strong working knowledge and subject matter expertise in at least one of the following disciplines:- Unix, Networks, Databases, Storage, Messaging/Middleware, Market Data with relevant experience in the rest. You should have Subject matter expertise in both critical trading applications and infrastructure architecture patterns. Above all you should have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to lead root cause analysis and be able to recognize and rescue a project in trouble.
