About Us

ATD Travel Services is the UK's leading retailer of attraction tickets, experiences and holidays and is proud to be the number 1 ticket retailer for Disney, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld from three source markets, including the UK.

Our Drupal environment is currently made up of both Drupal 6 and 7 instances. We have begun development using Drupal 8 and plan to launch aspects of our system using Drupal 8 in the coming year.

Our websites communicate with our Drupal back office via a RESTful API developed using Silix, the micro-framework based on Symfony2. The whole environment sits on a private virtualisation at Rackspace with VM’s for Nginx, Varnish, Apache, Redis, MariaDB and many other of the latest Open Source applications.


What you will be doing

  • Use your experience to proactively pursue change and improvements in all areas of the code, the infrastructure, the architecture and the development cycle.
  • You will be responsible for implementing new development features and functionality.
  • You should be able to take instructions as well as identify issues and propose solutions.
  • You will work with frontend developers and designers to ensure effective, visually appealing, and intuitive implementation.
  • You should be an advocate for test driven development

Key elements needed of the role

  • 5+ years’ experience as a developer ideally managing multiple application development streams.
  • Drupal 6, 7 & 8
  • Apache PHP, and MySQL/MariaDB
  • Drupal Module & Theme development
  • Very strong HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript skills
  • Very strong eCommerce module development skills
  • Command line skills
  • Git or other Version Control Systems
  • Integrating with RESTFUL web services
  • Integrating with third-parties APIs (SAP, Salesforce, Pardot, Olark)
  • Integrating with payment gateways such as PayPal and SmartPay
  • Experience working to web standards and accessibility guidelines
  • Continuous integration, Unit testing, Selenium, Behat
  • Researching and introducing new technologies
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
