Banking Administrator - Derivatives

Derivatives, either professionally or as part of a degree or similar/Processing experience

One of our global financial services company has a great opportunity for a Derivatives Administrator

focused on helping clients manage and service their financial assets, a leading provider of financial services for institutions, corporations and high-net-worth individuals, providing superior asset management and wealth management, asset servicing, issuer services, clearing services and treasury services through a worldwide client-focused team.

Team Description:

  • Trade Capture of all Derivative products into core platforms - CMS/IAS/GSP/IMMS/FMA/SUMMIT
  • Trade Capture of Stock and Cash Collateral into core platforms
  • Reconciliations
  • Life Cycle Management
  • Client Reporting

Job Purpose:

  • The DSG processing teams are functionally aligned to ETD (Futures, Options, and Margins) and OTC (Swaps, Options, Collateral) processing. He/she will provide professional support to both internal and external end clients, including Investment Managers, Brokers, CARS, Custody and Outsourcing Accounting Teams.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for validating instructions and performing the relevant transaction processing.
  • The ETD role will involve daily reconciliation of accounts and the processing of Future and Option trades and daily margin instructions. The OTC role will involve trade processing and security setup, rate reset maintenance and interest accrual functions. Both teams post activity related to derivative collateral holdings.
  • Both ETD/OTC products, including Collateral, require working across business lines to ensure timely and accurate cash and security settlement, pricing, and accounting valuations.
  • The successful applicant utilises intra-day and end-of-day control tools and reports, ensuring all activity is accurate and complete. They are responsible for the monitoring of fails and overdrafts, and will work to resolve outstanding exceptions timely, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • The applicant will be expected to participate in project work and assist Supervisors with client on-boarding.
  • Successful applicants will be expected to have a greater contribution to problem resolving, query resolution and product knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Development

Build and maintain excellent relationships with partner groups. Also, be responsible for Personal Development through Development discussions and monthly reviews with direct Manager. Cross training within both Processing teams would also be required.

Measures of success

- Develop a good degree of derivatives knowledge on products including Futures, Swaps, Options, FX Forwards, Collateral etc.

- Develop a good understanding of clients, Investment Manager's and all internal partners.

- Receive positive feedback from all partner groups and zero complaints

- Demonstrable evidence of functional and operational improvements

- Individual performance reviewed in line with performance management cycle

- Demonstrate ability to perform roles on both OTC and ETD teams after the delivery of required training.

- Assist to develop knowledge and understanding of colleagues with the Processing and Servicing teams.

Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and focused individual with a proven track record
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to effectively plan for all eventualities
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
  • Derivatives knowledge preferred although not essential
  • Experience in a financial services environment preferred
  • Relevant and/or financial degree preferred
