NK146: EB & ESES Legal Counsel Banking, Brussels
Background
You will provide legal support to the Bank and to a lesser extent also to other entities in other EU countries. Your main responsibilities will be to handle legal issues related to the operations of and services provided by the bank support in general contractual matters and matters of general company law and compliance law.

Your Role
Your tasks will include:
advise on the legal framework;
drafting and negotiating contracts with service providers, counterparts and clients;
documenting the services offered by the Bank;
providing assistance and legal support for any new service for the Bank;
cooperating with the lawyers of the Legal Division within all entities of the Bank Group.
Your Profile:
We are looking for a lawyer with a degree from a Belgian university:
with minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the capital market or similar relevant experience (ie experience in securities issuance, settlement or custody business) preferably gained in the in-house legal division of a bank, broker or other financial institution or in a law firm;
fluent in French or Dutch and English;
with the following skills:
- excellent knowledge of Belgian law and market practices in the financial world
- excellent communication and ability to integrate a team
- detailed-oriented and analytic
- pragmatic, risk aware and capable to take initiatives
- flexible and proactive
