What We Do:

StepsAway is a retail focused SaaS company whose platform SAConnect™, is used by national retailers to create and deliver hyperlocal, real-time promotions to shoppers' smartphones via mall guest Wi-Fi networks. The turnkey solution is deployed in more than 150 shopping centers nationwide including premier GGP, Taubman Company and Macerich malls. StepsAway aligns with retailers' digital and omnichannel strategies by connecting mobile shoppers to in-mall offers that drive brick-and-mortar sales, while also empowering mall owners to capitalize on their Wi-Fi investments and increase sales per square foot. Consumers instantly access StepsAway via a web-based mobile app when they connect to participating malls' Wi-Fi networks. StepsAway is a privately held company based in California.

What We Need:

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help design and scale StepsAway's expanding containerized infrastructure. This role will be responsible for deploying and scaling various services, troubleshooting issues, building and maintaining fault-tolerant tools, and ensuring the general robustness of our cloud infrastructure. This role reports directly to the Head of Technology.

What You Need:

  • Experience designing and managing an environment operating with a thousand plus containers
    - Experience with Docker orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Cattle) and relevant infrastructure services (Networking, DNS, storage, monitoring)
    - Experience managing Cloud Computing platforms (AWS)
    - Experience deploying and scaling PostgreSQL
    - Experience with build and delivery systems (TeamCity, Jenkins)
    - Experience developing or implementing load and chaos tests to improve site resiliency
    - Proficiency in Linux administration and CLI tools
    - Proficiency in Git and repository management
    - Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
    - Self-motivation and strong desire to improve systems and processes

What Would Help:

    - Ability to program in Ruby, Go, or Node.js
    - Experience with the Rancher platform
    - Experience with administrating CoreOS
    - Familiarity with database concepts and SQL
