Energy Trading Contract Coordinator - ParaLegal/Legal Administrator

Rate: up to £37,000 per anum/£25.85 per hour Ltd co.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 12 Months Initially

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Contract Coordinator with previous experience within a legal administrative or as a para-legal role within Energy Trading, Commodities Trading or Shipping to draft, review and send spot and term sales & purchase contracts in close liaison with Commercial Advisors ensuring that they accurately reflect the terms agreed by traders as recorded in the deal capture system.

About the Role:

  • Review and respond to non-standard counterparty contracts which may require directly seeking advice from the trader and the Commercial Advisor.
  • Ensure all trades are properly documented and acknowledged in a timely fashion.
  • To target agreed KPI performance goals for contract drafting and dispatch.
  • Support the Commercial Advisors in providing pre and post deal support to the business.
  • Responsibility for maintaining the complete electronic deal record for all trades including contracts, documents and amendments.
  • Maintain the physical records repository in the respective Trading & Supply hubs in accordance with the file plan.
  • Support Commercial Advisors in maintaining the contract and clause database as well as creating fit for purpose contracts template in consultation with Commercial Advisors.
  • Assist in training and supporting of new joiners to the Contracts team.
  • Maintain compliance with local implementation policies, manual of authorities and SOX controls.

About You:

  • MUST HAVE 2-3+ years' experience in energy/commodity trading or shipping environment in a legal/para legal or contract administration role.
  • Must have a flexible approach and be commercially orientated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have the ability to prioritise work load and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail with good written drafting ability.
  • Capable of critically review contracts to identify issues and exposures and to draft constructive responses to mitigate or remove such exposures.
  • Must have good communication skills, capable of engaging with traders and other stakeholders to ensure all contract are accurate and fit for purpose.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
