Job Description
Responsibilities will include automotive powertrain design, modification, and mass production support, new and/or existing component/system design, supplier/prototype parts analysis and quality/cost control as well as project/testing support for assigned powertrain components.
The candidate will also research/develop new and innovative cost-competitive technologies, modify existing designs/drawings and mature specifications in order to create functioning prototypes. This will also include acting as an individual contributor for assigned parts from initial concept through final production part validation and release to customers. All assignments are expected to be performed within a defined latitude allowing for independent judgment, problem solving and decision making as well as maintaining accuracy, quality, efficiency and compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Additional responsibilities may include feasibility investigations, simulation, marketability analysis, cost calculation, and/or emerging technology research.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
BSME and a minimum of 1 year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in an automotive drafting or design capacity or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Background should include experience with drafting, CATIA, simulation, vendor support/negotiation and manufacturing support. Proficient PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software) and excellent communication/interpersonal skills required. Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
