*Fixed Asset Accountant - up to £425/day - 7/8 month contract - Nottingham (with some travel to Swansea or Bristol)*
Security Cleared: Must already hold BPSS + DS clearance or be willing to undergo.
We have an exciting opportunity to join one of our key Public Sector clients in Nottingham, who are looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining governance and control over the fixed asset base of DVSA. This involves becoming the key point of expertise regarding DVSA's fixed asset registers, supporting and contributing to the DVSA's capital strategy, ensuring compliance with IFRS and FReM, and producing regular monthly reports to BPB and the relevant elements of the Annual Report and Accounts.
Key tasks and deliverables:
*Manage and maintain the fixed asset records of the organisation. Specifically ensuring the fixed asset registers are up-to-date, accurate and fully understood.
*Act as partner to the business for all matters associated with assets, in particular capital investment decisions, impairment reviews and analysis of capital spend.
*Conducting post implementation reviews of capital projects to ensure benefit realisation is monitored.
Essential skills and experience:
*CAB qualified accountant (or equivalent) with post qualification experience.
*Experience of liaising with stakeholders at a senior level (both internal and external).
*Experience of fixed asset accounting in a complex, multi-site public sector organisation (Fixed Asset Accountant).
*Expert user of Microsoft excel, in particular database functions including lookups and pivot tables
*Willingness to travel as the job requires (likely to be several times a month)

*Experience of working with SAP
