About UsStreamhub is a London based video analytics startup with a worldwide customer base. We provide big data analytics reporting tools for media companies helping them target, grow and monetise loyal video audiences. Our dashboard simplifies complex data insights offering a range of visualisations that helps discover key patterns and trends. It’s all about giving a great user experience and researching new ways to express information.
We are looking to strengthen our remote team with an experienced frontend developer that loves analytics/data visualisation and has experience building plugins using analytics APIs, especially for video apps/players.
Role and responsibility
This is a part-time contractor role where you will join a fast-paced team to work on deliverables every week. Two very important modules of our product are the player plugins/APIs which collects granular events and the Frontend application used for report generation. It would be ideal if you can cover both areas effectively. To summarise:
Develop various features for the frontend of our analytics app written in Angular, which consumes REST APIs and generates reports laid over a customisable dashboard.
Develop plugins for video players to post player events to our analytics APIs.
Required Skills
- Rock solid proficiency (3 years+) in javascript / angular.js version 1.3 or higher
- Experience in D3.js / Highcharts or other data visualisation libraries
- Strong understanding of REST APIs
- Good CSS/HTML skills
- Proven experience in building analytics plugins for video players for Android, iOS, video.js, Roku, Playstation, Chromecast, STBs, Smart TVs etc. Find out more here. Javascript plugins experience a must.
- TDD and writing tests for FE apps and plugins is second nature for you
- Understanding of online video platforms systems such as Brightcove, ThePlatform, Kaltura, JW Player is a bonus
- Proficient in English speaking and writing
- Must have at least 5 years of professional experience in production-grade software development
Package
- About 3 days per week for proven remote workers
- Circa $160 per day depending on experience and length of contract
- Length of contract from 1 to 6 months depending on results
- Initial assignment
- Flexible working hours as long as you can overlap 3 working hours with our London working hours (9am - 6pm GMT), on the days you work
