£550 PD, 12 months
An excellent opportunity has arisen with a global financial for a Product Tax Advisor. Responsibility for providing advice and implementation where required on the FATCA and CRS regulations.
Role of the Fund Management Product Tax Advisor

Development of procedure manuals and policies for both FATCA and CRS for audit purposes

Providing Real Time advice to stakeholders within the above business lines and wider teams.

Achieve an appropriate balance between assisting investors' understanding of the relevant tax issues, and providing tax advice that should more properly be provided by an investor's own tax advisers and foster that balance in the business teams.

Provide technical content for tax related client publications, newsletters, factsheets, prospectuses and similar.

Provide tax updates to any relevant business teams and wider groups such as Fund Boards

Recognise enquiries and issues that relate to corporate tax or VAT, and route these promptly to the appropriate team members.

Opportunity to work on ad hoc projects as they arise relevant to the business lines supported.

There is scope to consider/manage the wider tax risks around managing these products within the context of the business lines and operational teams that are impacted eg are the right controls in place; is more automation possible etc.
Requirements of the Fund Management Product Tax Advisor

ACA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification

Indicative 5-6 years' experience within fund management tax

Detailed understanding of both FATCA and CRS (ie information reporting in general)

Detailed understanding of European pooled fund structures used within mainstream funds

An understanding of the tax issues that affect institutional clients investing directly into a global mandate of assets

An understanding of UK Corporate Tax
Beneficial Skills of the Fund Management Product Tax Advisor

Knowledge of structured products

Understanding of US fund structures
-
Experience in presenting tax issues to small seminar groups

Working knowledge of BEPS
