Finance Change Control is within Finance Change under the Chief Operating Officer. This role is within the Investment Appraisal & Management part of the department. Through working with Project Managers and PMO, the core purpose of this role is to provide financial analysis and support to the Group Finance investment portfolio. It will involve close working with originators of business cases and colleagues working in various governance bodies both within Finance and across the Group.
Skills/Experience:
- Partial or fully qualified accountant
- Experience in working as a Project Accountant or Finance Analyst in an investment reporting area
- Experience of month end accounting and processes
- Self Starter
- Team Player
- Strong Excel and systems skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with SAP and OFA
Key accountabilities:
- Assisting Project Managers with the compilation of financials for project forecasting templates
- Working with Project Managers on month end activity to ensure accuracy with accrual calculations, journal postings and booking benefits
- Reviewing the ledger at month end to identify and correct MIS-postings
- Analysis of expenditure at cost management unit (CMU) level
- Month end variance analysis and commentary for Group Reporting purposes
- Producing regular MI on the allocation of all Finance investment funding and benefits tracking
- Consolidation of quarterly forecast and 5 year operating plan (5YOP) submissions
- Input of 5YOP submissions to the budgeting and forecasting systems
- Processing RAF submissions when applicable
- Input to continuous improvement of reporting processes for month end packs and divisional reports
- Completion of ad-hoc transactional queries
