Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD), a national nonprofit organization, seeks a health science writer who can make the subject matter personal, compelling, engaging, and actionable--think Brené Brown meets Stephen Hawking!This is a part-time position that reports to an Executive Director; you may work remotely, with occasional on-site presence required. You will work with a great team to serve our four constituencies: parents/caregivers, adults with ADHD, teachers/educators, and medical/psychology professionals & treatment clinicians.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Draw on research in the field, interview experts, and write inspiring, timely articles for our weekly eNewsletter.
- Write important Fact Sheets and other material that serve our constituents.
- Participate in planning and creating new materials and communication initiatives.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- At least three years' prior experience in science writing
- Experience writing mainstream "marketing" communications a plus
- Impeccable grammar
- Ability to read & assimilate research into lively compositions in "common language"
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to work without close supervision
- Ability to adhere to schedules and deadlines
- Collaborative team player
- A creative writing style (in Chicago Style preferred)
- Mastery of Microsoft Office and Adobe
