Job description

One of our clients is looking for a project manager who has a vast background and skills within IT. This is a generic project management role within IT.

Background

The Project Management Office (PMO) in Corporate IT is a global organization that provides professional project management expertise to our client's projects. The Project Manager is key in delivering high quality solutions while ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance with internal processes, technical strategies and quality standards. To succeed in this role you likely have experience from working in a multinational/-cultural environment, a solid business focus and understanding for how to communicate with business stakeholders. Through working closely with business operations you have understood that technology is an enabler to the business and you have experience from assessing business requirements and managing both business and technology development.

As Project Manager you

  • are responsible for all elements from project initiation to completion eg scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communication, risk and procurement.
  • are accountable towards the business stakeholder for the success of all assigned projects including project deliverables, deadlines and budget
  • liaise directly with the business to ensure project goals and objectives are in line with company requirements and values
  • apply known methodology such as PROPS to design and apply an appropriate project management framework for all projects
  • successfully initiate, plan, execute and close all agreed project deliverables
  • plan and monitor the project
  • publish project plans and schedules as needed
  • manage project risks, including the development of contingency plans
  • report through agreed reporting lines on project progress
  • manage project administration
  • run a Lessons Learned session and summarize the outcome in a report
  • coordinate and track dependencies for the successful completion of the project.

Skills and experience:

  • Fluent in English. Additional language competence is considered an advantage.
  • International experience from managing complex and strategic IT projects spanning multiple organizations and technology vendors
  • University degree - Bachelor's Degree required with an emphasis in Information Technology, or Engineering. Graduate degree a plus; other independent studies in related areas a plus
  • Project Management training (PMI certification or similar desired)
  • Knowledge and experience of Waterfall project models (PROPS in particular)
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile project models (eg Scrum Master)
  • A strong understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
  • Excellent team management experience
  • Experience of working in an outsourced environment
  • Leadership training is desired
