Description
Network engineers required to support global technology and communications company with the integration and acceptance of the Cisco solution at Vodafone Ireland
Role
- Provide technical support for the IP Consolidation Programme
- Base will be Vodafone Ireland Dublin (various locations in the Dublin area)
- Attend site as required Monday to Friday - typical day will be 09:00-17:00 but there will be a need to support night-time migration activity as required
Essential
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing
- Fluent English (verbal and written)
- A minimum of 10 years proven hands-on network engineering experience
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (eg, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) with relevant experience of at least 5 years
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Full understanding of the migration process for Mobile Backhaul Networks
- Full understanding of Cisco ASR product set
- Comfortable in presenting new concepts to people some of whom may not be as skilled
Desirable
- A minimum of 5 years' experience of Vodafone Network and working processes
- University degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
