IT Business Analyst with technical background.

Our clients are currently looking to hire an experienced IT business Analyst with a technical background and a solid background within Retail.

Reporting to The Business Solutions team who are responsible for business solutions management across the clients IT environment. developing new business solutions and keeping existing solutions relevant and running. bring IT and business closer together through common ways of working.

This is the way our client empowers its co-workers, customers and suppliers with the right solutions to optimise the customer experience and contribute to a growing Organization.

The Business Analyst (BA) should identify, document and manage all business requirements for a solution, so that the solution meets the needs and expectations of the users, and other internal or external stakeholders. Enables Internal people to articulate needs and the rationale for change and describe the solutions that can deliver value.

Requirements Management & Solution Evaluation

Identify improvements by elicit, analyse, challenge and document (eg business requirements, use cases, user stories, test cases & acceptance criteria, boundary conditions) all stakeholder needs and detailed business requirements. For a technical service this includes functional and non-functional requirements.

Facilitate the identification and elaboration of feasible business solutions for process, organization and service with business modelling while managing expectations among the stakeholders.

Challenge and assure quality of stakeholder needs, business requirements and solution alternatives in order to identify consequences and reduce risks. Support solution evaluation with identified business requirements.

Support for Design Activities, Validation/Test & Configuration Management Support

Support project management in setting up a business analysis approach that is appropriate for the chosen project approach. Support business architect in creation of business blueprint and managing dependencies relating to processes, information and solutions.

Support with definition and validation of high level & low level design for business development activities (project & releases) in cooperation with the solution architect and vendor resources.

Validate compliance of business requirements through the Service Validation/Test & Configuration Management processes execution by the IT vendors, review test results, follow-up and steer on defined test KPIs/metrics. Support BAT, UAT planning, preparation & execution, including test case definition and drive acceptance.

Support Service Transition, Running Operations, LCM, Documentation

Support service transition activities in relation to new business development activities (projects & releases), including dependencies and handover to Operations. Support and provide expertise to secure the daily operation of the solution when needed. Support in defining expected service levels.

Contribute to the creation of solution documentation in co-operation with process/business teams and IT vendors. Contribute to the creation of the learning offer' for the solution including training materials and delivery of training.

Provide inputs for solution area business continuity plan.

Cross-functional Support

Support interactions with process and business teams, Operations & Shared Services, Architecture, Information Security, Local IT, Information management teams

Good knowledge of the relevant business process, its strategies and connections to other processes.

Solid knowledge and experience in business analysis, requirements engineering process and configuration management.

Good at facilitating, planning and managing workshops and activities.

Good knowledge within the assigned solution area, its roadmap, life cycle management as well as the IT solution/platform.

Good knowledge of test methods and tools with focus on acceptance testing and good understanding of unit, system, integration testing.

Knowledge of general IT frames eg standards, infrastructure and platforms, frameworks, development concepts and processes.

Solid understanding of project and software life cycle management.

Solid understanding of IT application landscapes and the technology & architectural aspects of the solutions as well as implemented functionality.

Steering according to processes and methods for developing, integrating and building IT system.

Ability to elicit, find patterns, see new opportunities and possibilities in an analytical and very structured manner.

Excellent in listening, communication skills & ability to describe complex scenarios in a structured, comprehensive way to its audience.

Ability to challenge others and to determine what is relevant.

Brings a quality focus to all solution management activities.

Ability to address process/technology challenges creatively and pragmatically. Working with the big picture and in small details.
