Public Relations Officer - 12 Months Contract - Oxfordshire

A leading Client of Modis is looking for a Public Relations Officer to liaise with colleagues in areas of the Programme across the client's community. The Public Relations Officer will be required to produce or contribute to regular reports and briefings for internal and external audiences up to Ministerial level.

The Public Relations Officer will also need to develop and maintain close relationships with stakeholders involved in the Programme to align interests, ensure cohesion in the delivery of the platform.

The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.

Public Relations Officer tasks and responsibilities

Your main Tasks and Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Through regular meetings, calls and site visits, collate and interpret up-to-date information on Production, Test and Programmes
  • Often working independently, develop internal and external communications briefs on various aspects of the Programme. These will be delivered to audiences ranging from the local workforce to Ministers and Senior Executives
  • Contribute to and maintain and manage a local and internal communications plan and work with the client's central communications team, charities, local management to coordinate a cohesive message
  • Organise, plan and host customer engagement and team building events including air shows
  • Design marketing materials and manage a customer affairs budget

Public Relations Officer required skills:

Candidate must embody the following attributes:

  • Minimum 2-3 years working in office environment
  • Degree level education is NOT required but successful candidate will have high degree or numeracy and literacy
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to work independently in a high pressure environment with a strong adherence to deadlines
  • Demonstrable experience in Stakeholder Management, programme Analysis and Project Management
  • Experience in Aviation and/or Defence Industry (or other technical environment) is desirable
  • Fluent in English (any other language would be a plus)
