AIX/UNIX Administrator - 6 Month Contract - €500per day - Central Dublin - Financial Services

Our client a market leader within Financial Services and is currently seeking a AIX/UNIX Administrator to join their team. Based in Dublin central the role is an initial 6 month contract with a view to extend. Your role will be to:

Senior Unix Administrator performs Level 2/3 functions in the Unix environment. Work includes new OS and/or platform certification, first article server builds, operating system upgrades, patching, security hardening, presenting storage to Servers, installation automation, and installation of third party software. Responsibilities also include working with other Technology services groups, performance troubleshooting and coordination of activities with customers, working with vendors, and resource management of Unix environments. Weekend and night coverage required when needed.

Key Requirements & Experience

Extensive experience in Unix Operational Support in a medium to large telecom and/or distributed platform environment performing installation, configuration, and troubleshooting duties. In Depth knowledge of Solaris & RedHat, system administration troubleshooting; Boot from SAN, troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, Disaster Recovery. Ability to develop automation process using Scripting languages such as Shell. Experience of working with EMC and NetApp storage and familiarity of SAN and Vfiler technology and architectures

  • IBM AIX Essential
  • SuSE 11+ and RedHat 6+ Linux experience - Required
  • Solaris - Required
  • Volume management
  • Clustering on RedHat & Solaris - Desirable
  • Oracle/IBM/Dell hardware knowledge - Required.
