6 Month Contract to HireBirmingham based software development firm is growing and looking for experienced Full Stack Software Developer.

IsotopeEleven, Inc. is a Birmingham, Alabama USA based Software Development Firm established in 2005. Since then, we have worked with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from Federal and State Agencies, to businesses of all sizes including Fortune 500 companies. We were recently named Technology Company of the Year 2015 by the Birmingham Business Alliance. We've worked on projects in almost all verticals including healthcare, construction, financial, insurance, travel - just to name a few. Our main focus is project-based custom software development. We also offer other services including staff augmentation, project architecture, code review, training, maintenance of legacy apps and general consulting. We consist of a group of seasoned developers that are dedicated to the success of our projects and the best interests of our clients.
HOW WE WORK
There are no fancy job titles or levels of management, we all just get things done. We work as a team however you also need to be able to work semi-autonomously. We are a remote work based company, however, this position may require some travel. We use tools such a slack, google hangouts, trello and others to help us interact throughout the day as if we were all under the same roof.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR / OUR CULTURE
Our developers write clean, logical, high-quality code using test-driven development and Agile practices. You don’t have to be experienced with Agile and TDD to join us, but you must be willing to learn.
The Ability to Self-Manage:
Our developers usually work one or two projects at a time, and mostly with no direct daily or hourly management. We must be focused, self-directed, and good at managing our work.
A Consultant Mindset:
Our goal is to create solutions that will provide the maximum value for the client’s investment. To accomplish this, our developers must have consultant mindset that lets us delve into the business context and closely manage our time, our users’ needs, and our client’s budget.
Curiosity & Love of Learning:
Because we try to find the best tool for every situation, our developers are fast learners who can quickly ramp into a new toolset or language. You might move from developing a web app in Ruby to creating an internal application in Javascript to building a mobile app in Objective-C or Java.
A Passion for Development:

Strong Communication Skills:

That’s a whole lot of talking and writing, which means we must be clear, transparent communicators who can understand their audience, give them the right level of detail, and help them make smart, informed decisions.
The Ability to be a Good Team Member:
Our developers work side-by-side with designers, clients, and other developers, discussing our work and managing a constant flow of feedback. We put the needs of the product over their own egos.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ Years experience with Ruby and Rails
- Experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS and Python
- Experience using jQuery, PostgreSQL, Redis, Linux, Nginx, Elasticsearch, and Amazon Web Services - the more the better
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium
- Familiarity with distributed revision control systems such as Git
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently - accountable for your own actions and able to act with both urgency and integrity
- Although we are a remote based development firm, as we are Federal Contractor, our developers must be United States citizens and must submit to a background check confidentially processed by our third party

An opportunity to work with an incredible group of people who love what they do. This is a full-time, 6 month contract with the intention of hiring post contract. We are offering an hourly compensation of between $35-45/hour depending on experience level and paid bi-weekly.
