Responsibilities:
- Ensuring legislative, contractual and clients H&S requirements are understood and met on clients street works projects
- Documenting requirements, implementation and reporting through a Construction Phase Plan that meets the requirements of CDM legislation
- Working with internal staff to ensure that the company’s CDM-PC and CDM-PD responsibilities are met
- Communicating, implementing and promoting the project H&S plans. This will involve some travel within the UK
- Reporting on project H&S performance and ensuring all key issues are identified and addressed
- Auditing and qualifying potential sub-contractors
- Investigating serious incidents and accidents to ensure a suitable response is in place at the earliest opportunity. Leading sub-contractors and staff to ensure underlying causes are identified and improvement implemented
- Through routine meetings, strengthening interactions with the customer and subcontractors in respect of H&S performance
- Guiding H&S audit sub-contractors in carrying out site auditing and issuing audit reports
- Create project forecasts and budgets for H&S implementation
- Support the clients H&S team in developing capability and competence
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or British Safety Council Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or NVQ 3 in Occupational Health and Safety Management
- Construction Design Management (CDM) 2015
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role or as a H&S auditor working in telecommunications including street works and traffic management
- Demonstrable record of self and team improvement
- Desired qualifications:
-- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health
-- BSC Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health
-- PgC / PgD / MSc in Occupational Health and Safety Management
-- NVQ 4 in Occupational Health and Safety Management
-- Technician, Graduate or Chartered membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (TechIOSH, GradIOSH, CMIOSH)
-- Experience in TL9000 procedures
-- Experience in OHSAS 18001:2007 procedures
-- Experience in ISO/IEC 27001 procedures
-- Experience in BS/EN ISO 14001:2004 procedures
-- Street civil works to install fibre optic ducts and access points
