Description

The Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) is a United States not-for-profit organization dedicated to saving the cheetah in the wild. Our mission is to be an internationally recognized center of excellence in research and education on cheetahs and their eco-systems, working with all stakeholders to achieve best practice in the conservation and management of the world's cheetahs. The CCF's annual budget is $2.3 - $2.5 million annually operating with a small US based staff.

Description:

CCF seeks an experienced grant writing professional to assist in proposal writing on a per diem basis.

Reports to:

Executive Director

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources;
  • Develop project descriptions, evaluation plans, etc.;
  • Generate compelling narratives for funding applications and reports;
  • Gather budget materials for applications and ensure compliance with funding requirements;
  • Works closely with faculty and staff in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals;
  • Regularly report in writing about all grant application activities to Director of Development.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong written communication skills;
  • Ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals;
  • Strong editing skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and complete work timely and accurately;
  • Understanding of institutional history and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in English, Journalism or related field;
  • Minimum of five years' experience with grant writing;
  • History of proven grant writing success;
  • Previous experience with non-profit fundraising;
  • Experience working in deadline-driven environments and handling multiple assignments.
