Project Manager/Migration Specialist - Swedish Speaker
Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Project Manager/Migration Specialist for a project in Västernorrland, Sweden.

Information/Knowledge requirements:
The client has started a review of the Mainframe environment.
A number of choices relating to the target environment systems to be migrated, has been identified.
These choices should, in the spring of 2017, be deepened facing a future decision. The continuation will possibly be to start the procurement of migration of Mainframe systems to another platform.
In a possible migration, a so-called 1-1 Migration will be implemented.
This means that:
- All Cobol code is converted to a language with a long life cycle that fits in the clients target environment or Cobol code adapted to run in an emulated Mainframe environment.
- Converting and testing processes to be automated and implemented using special tools that can transform code if necessary.
- The new solution will have equivalent performance, lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and preserved manageability.
- Since most of the client's IT solutions is affected, it will require a thorough risk management and a communication plan.
The mission intended approach is as follows:
Part 1 Deepening of choices. Finished summer 2017. Scope about 80-100%.
Part 2 Procurement of services for the implementation of the migration. Deadline-year . Scope approximately 40-60%.
Part 3 Quality assurance and support during implementation. Until projects end. Scope approximately 40-60%.
The client is currently seeking a consultant who have experience in:
- Plan and describe the project phases, activities, skills and resources, models of accountability and risk management that are appropriate for the project with the goal to implement a 1: 1 technology migration
- Plan and describe the testing process, test tools and methods used in the project with the goal to implement a 1: 1 technical migration.
- Analyze and describe the architecture-related choices and their consequences, before, during and after a project with the goal to implement a 1: 1 technical migration.
- Investigate and describe the special conditions, attitudes and processes that are at stake in a project with the goal to implement a 1: 1 technical migration.
- Participate in and ensure the quality procurements of 1: 1 technical migration with good knowledge of which suppliers are present in 1: 1 technical migration projects including their individual motivations and methods
The purpose of the consultancy service is that in a specialist role;
- Review documentation and plans and interviewing the client's staff or by the client's hired consultants and vendors.
- Give proposals to amend the plans and calculations, as well as quality assurance of all items produced.
- Develop a concrete action plan presented to the client.
- Make a risk analysis.
- Assist in the procurement of migration provider.
- Assist in the choice of migration options and decision support for the client.
The assignment includes documenting according the client's guidelines and that skills transfer to designated personnel.
The consultant should also be able to contribute its expertise in other areas that the client chooses.
Mandatory requirements (must be met).
The Consultant will:
- have experience of planning and describing the project phases, activities, skills and resources, models of accountability and risk management that are appropriate for the project with the goal to implement a 1: 1 technical migration.
- have experience of planning and describing the testing process, test tools and methods used in the project with the goal to implement a 1: 1 technology migration
- have experience of describing the special conditions, attitudes and processes affected in a project with the goal to implement a 1: 1 technical migration.
- have experience of having participated in a procurement of migration projects in the role of quality assurance for the procurement of 1: 1 technology migration and a good knowledge of which suppliers are present in 1: 1 technical migration projects including their individual motivations and methods.
- Must be fluent in Swedish, speaking and read/write.
