Principal Standards Management Engineer

A Principal Standards Management Engineer with Submarine experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria

This is a 12 month contract with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Principal Standards Management Engineer contract role

As the Principal Standards Management Engineer your main responsibilities will be the maintenance of Standards Applicability Matrix on our defence clients submarine vessels, Review of updated Standards and liaison with design teams to determine impacts, Management of Standard updates through Engineering Change Process, Review of engineering documentation to ensure correct identification of use of standards, Providing general support to engineering teams on the application of standards and Liaison with Ministry of Defence on standards issues.

Key skills required for the Principal Standards Management Engineer

  • Degree level qualifications or equivalent, including ex Navy personnel
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of working on large system projects.
  • Familiarisation with Submarine Defence Standards.
  • Familiarisation with Submarine Design and Practices.
  • Familiarisation with Submarine toolsets and processes an advantage.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
