Business Systems Analyst I

1 year+ contract with annual extensions & option to hire

Defines customer needs in technical and business contexts. Ensure the proposed technical and business solutions meet the customer's objectives for the work effort.
Daily Responsibilities:
- All tasks outlined in the job description previously submitted to include business analysis, benefit analysis, leading the testing in the absence of a test lead, ad hoc work requests, requirements gathering, design review, and quality control
- Manage projects from initiation to post deployment, requirements, support feasible design solutioning, benefit analysis, support resource management, and coordinate/lead testing.
- Understanding of development, but not required to perform coding (except for some SQL coding).
- Works with team until product is functioning and realizes benefit.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Two years of IT Business Analysis experience in healthcare, insurance, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or a total of six years of work-related experience.
Desired Skills:
- MS Visio, MS Project
- SQL and testing experience preferred but not required.
Systems: Able to build knowledge of the core systems such as OnBase, AnyDoc, and various department processes.
Working Relationships:
- Analysts have direct interaction with management and the project team. Minimal interaction with executive level.
- This is primarily a matrixed organization with most authority leaning toward functional management/sponsors.
- Routine communication is expected around requirement walk-throughs, design review, testing, and ad hoc projects. Ad hoc projects with CMS designs are periodically assigned.
Team Size: Team size varies with each project; anywhere from 5 - 20 members. The actual PMO team is 10 people.
Hours:
- Some weekend work maybe required during testing and deployment.
- There may be times where weekly hours exceed 40, but that should not happen routinely.
- There is a partial work-at-home opportunity (ie 1-2 days a week) after 90 days.
Breakdown of Responsibilities:
- 50% Elicit and document user requirements to meet a business objective. Identify and validate requirements and organize the information into a logical document that is understood by the customer and Information Systems.
- 25% Guide both technical and customer departments in the development of the systems that support the business solution.
- 15% Ensure the accurate deployment of solutions through review of problem logs, assisting with test plans and test matrices, and other analysis activities.
- 10% Validate the business need for solutions to business problems and process improvements.
