Description
The ideal Senior Software Engineer will demonstrate an aptitude to quickly learn new technologies and products. S/he should be highly analytical with the ability to derive facts quickly, methodically, and accurately. S/he should have a strong knowledge of WordPress, PHP, Javascript, JQuery, HTML, MySQL and CSS. Feel comfortable working across the full technology stack. You will work to solve product problems of low to high complexity.Responsibilities include:
- Implement customer enhancement requests following Mequoda best practices
- Architect, develop and maintain dynamic websites, web applications and web services using PHP
- Develop and maintain coding standards using industry best practices
- Document requirement and design specifications
- Perform quality control on deliverables
- Coordinate with development team and other departments to complete tasks
- Take ownership of overall customer satisfaction, recognize high priority situations and take appropriate escalation action.
- Manage multiple issues in parallel.
- Troubleshoot in-depth customer issues and responsible for the resolution
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PHP, Javascript, JQuery, HTML, MySQL and CSS
- Experience developing WordPress plugins
- Thorough knowledge of WordPress theme structure
- Experience integrating WordPress with other systems (such as email services, fulfillment systems, e-commerce, ad servers)
- Ability to work remotely
- Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Experience with ad servers and Google Analytics a plus
- Experience with Memcached
- Experience in client facing roles a plus
- Knowledge of Zurb foundation and SASS a plus
- Experience with Jira a plus
This is a 20-40 hour contractor position and a remote position.
