Description
SparkPost is looking for a freelance web developer or firm specializing in WordPress development to develop and improve the website for SparkPost, an email delivery platform that is used by our customers to send 25% of the world’s email.You will be working directly with our engineering and marketing teams remotely. You’ll be communicating with us through Slack, daily standups, and weekly demos.
What we’re looking for
- Proven history with and strong knowledge of WordPress, including custom theme development, plugin management, and common maintenance tasks
- Expertise building complex, responsive layouts using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
- Experience integrating with AWS services including S3 and CloudFront
- Experience with analytics and testing tools including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Optimizely
- Experience building and debugging JavaScript and CSS issues
- Experience working with a remote team – we’ve got team members located on both the east and west coasts of the U.S.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changes in deadlines, priorities, and schedules
- Ability to execute with minimal oversight
- Ability to identify risks and challenges and propose solutions and alternatives
What you’ll be doing
- Working directly with our engineering and marketing teams to execute website strategy
- Building and enhancing themes for our web properties using WordPress
- Consolidating various properties (support, API docs, etc.) into a single WordPress instance
- Researching, designing and proposing solutions for new functionality
- Implementing designs for mobile and desktop with attention to detail
- Optimizing page load times using minification, concatenation, versioning, and caching
- Implementing data collection through common analytics and testing tools
- Assessing and resolving production issues
