The Scala Back End Developer will IDEALLY HAVE AT LEAST 65% of the following skills:
- Experience with software engineering, preferably in creating highly scalable mission-critical applications;
- Strong skills in Scala and Python and good knowledge of XML, JSON, REST and web-services
- Affinity with tools like Git and Jenkins;
- The candidate should have strong knowledge and experience in designing, building and maintaining a Back End from scratch.
- Knowledge of (Postgre)SQL, Airflow and the Hadoop ecosystem (Spark in particular) are a nice-to-have;
- Experience in design and development of highly available, secure and performant applications;
- Experience with test automation;
- Experience with SCRUM/Agile and test driven development
- Good social and communication skills.
The Scala Back End Developer will perform the following responsibilities:
- The app will use REST API's to connect to different third parties and will need to expose API's for the Frontend.
- Performance, security, and resilience are of upmost importance as we will be handling a lot of customer data and want to deliver a service with maximum availability. A basic understanding and experience with SQL, Akka and Pyhon is needed.
- We work according to a SCRUM Agile development process and want to release working software every two weeks.
- The level of expertise and experience within the team is very high which creates a very energetic atmosphere.
- We won't forget to have some fun while developing the proposition.
