Asset Management Focused Lawyer, Qualified, London, 6 months
Tier One Investment Bank is looked to appoint a qualified Lawyer to their Asset Management team on an interim based for support the function.
Overview of business area or project:
The EMEA GC team is a small team but with a wide remit across a variety of legal entities and products. For the person joining, an English qualified solicitor, the candidate would be acting in a supportive role to the current team and workloads. The bulk of the work would be connected to the CSAM Credit Investment Group (CLO managers), our Private Funds Group (a private equity placement agency business) and a global distribution function. Therefore, someone who has experience in the credit/loan AM space and private equity distribution space would be preferable. Outside of the core businesses, we also have a JV business covering amongst others, a real estate Fund business and some equity funds businesses.
The work will fluctuate in levels of urgency and complexity, ranging from BAU non-complex documentation to involved and complex matters. For example, there might be a number of NDAs, engagement letters as well as fund updates and other ad hoc issues which I'd like the candidate to also help with and so a willingness of the person to become involved in the work which presents. Finally, there will be an exposure to a number of legal entities, specifically the main FCA regulated entity in London. The GC function sits within the business and from the start the candidate will interact with and be sought out by the internal clients.
The candidate would need to have some level knowledge of/experience with the financial regulatory environment UCITS/AIFMD/MAR etc.

Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:
- Variable workloads or varying complexity.
- Candidate will need to accept BAU documentation responsibilities such as NDAs, engagement letters etc. in addition to strategic or regulatory projects.
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- English qualified
- AM relevant experience
- Preferable CLO experience
- Understanding of key regulations
