Product Controller, Structured Rates, FX and IR London 6 months

Bank of America Merrill Lynch is looking to appoint an experienced Product Controller to their team in London on an initial 6 month contract. The role will focus upon P&L production and Risk control for the Structured Rates Complex FX and IR Option Desk concentrating in Rates products and Long dated FX and IR Options.

Requirements of the role include:

  • Review, substantiate and report T+1 risk and P&L Attribution on a daily basis.
  • Reconcile P&L figures between sub-ledgers and general ledger.
  • Analyse PnL Explains and investigate reasons for the Unexplained/Residual PnL.
  • Ensure all levels of P&L reporting are reconciled and consistent across multiple reporting platforms
  • Investigate and Remedy breaks in risk/PL stemming from cash, s
  • Respond to ad hoc queries from the trading desk. Participate extensively during the month end close which includes reconciling and substantiating accounts owned.
  • Liaise extensively with the Trading Desk, Trade Support and various other support partners
  • Required Skills:

    The candidate should have a know how of FX Options and IR Products and can explain on a high level various Greeks that these products generates, like FX, IR, Gamma, Theta, Volatility.

    It will be useful if the candidate understands the trading/hedging strategies of options, futures, swaps, and know high level how Target redemption notes and FX Digital works.

    He/she should be keen to upscale the learning curve around these products and should have ability to work quickly in a demanding environment to resolve issues in a timely manner and maintain a control function mindset.

    Understanding of Trial Balance and good concepts of debit/credit will enable him to get upto speed quickly.

    The candidate should be strong to deal with the Front Office queries and should have a mindset to highlight problems and preferably come up with a solution before approaching the team members. Should have collaborative skills to deal as a team member in addressing and resolving issues and tasks.

    He/She should be hands on with Excel and know how of VBA will be an added plus. Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in either Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or Economics.
